Starting From Scratch

So, this is the first post for my blog, and I wanted to start by welcoming everyone who is reading this right now. I hope that you’ll find what I talk about interesting and maybe even helpful in some ways.

Now, let me do a little introduction in case you haven’t read the “About Me” section of this blog.

My name is Abderrahman, but I like to go by the name Anenndim online. I’m 26 years old, and I’m a Moroccan living in Casablanca.

Since childhood, I’ve been interested in drawing and art, but the thing is, I was never consistent with it or tried to improve my skills. It’s true that with a lot of repetition over the years, my skills have improved compared to where I was years ago. However, I never fully committed to the artistic path and ended up neglecting it as time passed.

To keep this post as short as possible, I wanted to talk about what I’m doing at the start of this journey and my goals for the foreseeable future.

Recently, I started working on the fundamentals of drawing and have been following along with the free course and lessons I found on the website Drawabox (If you’re looking for drawing fundamentals for beginners, this course is a great place to start). It’s a really good course that you can follow, with step-by-step guides, lessons, and homework assignments to help you improve your skills.

I started by relearning how to draw lines, how to move my whole arm while drawing, and now I’m tackling the challenge presented by this course: drawing 250 boxes.

My goal in doing this (and starting this blog) is, obviously, to improve my drawing skills, start doing the things I love, and bring art back into my life.

I hope you enjoyed this quick read and my first post. See you in the next one!
